Joyce debuts the role of Verdi’s Aida at Opéra de Rouen, adding to her vast experience in the Verdian repertoire.

“I will see this land again”: To you the “Triumphal March”, the unforgettable hits and this unique feeling of diving together into the heart of a masterpiece! From its creation in 1871, Aïda took the public who will recall Verdi thirty-two times on stage. Soprano Joyce El-Khoury embodies this timeless heroine in a spectacular and intimate staging by Philipp Himmelmann. She advances in the brilliance of a solar Orient and gives us a destiny of a woman in motion. That of a refugee in time of war who decides to live an impossible love in the tumult of history. Carried by sublime airs and by the energy of the choirs, this collective exaltation takes us away.
